  1. > : “The hotel charges €5 for a pot of tea/coffee (with a complimentary refill if desired) plus €10 for three freshly made scones (per serving) with clotted cream from Hayes’ Farm http://www.hayesfarm.ie in Two Mile Borris, butter from Glenilen Farm http://www.glenilenfarm.com and a choice of jams from Crossogue Preserves http://www.crossoguepreserves.com which are all made locally.”

That’s the explanation. I’m not sure what’s being clarified.

  2. The prices are ridiculous, but if you’re staying there then what the fuck do you expect. Its already like 450 a night for 2 people. I don’t know why people spend so much on hotels. I’ve never been to a 5 star that was actually worth the money. Do they wake you up with oral sex? No. It’s money for service that is likely only gonna be just as good as a no star hotel with a good reputation. Then the food is up itself bullshit. Go to a cheaper hotel with a pool and spa. Then go into town for lunch and dinner. If I sound angry btw it’s just because I’m severely hungover 🤣

  3. Have we seen the scones?

Because if you are getting 3 normal scones and all those extras then €10 is acceptable in a 5 star hotel.

  4. It’s like that one about the couple in Venice, 43 euros for two water and two espresso, they were charged a tenner each for sitting outside for the view

  5. Honestly, after the Will Smith/Chris Rock debacle, this controversy got forgotten about fast in Irish news cycles so why the hell would they dig it back up again? Asking for bad publicity.
